Mouth Guards

Mouth guards are more versatile tools than many patients realized. They can prevent damage, protect teeth, and, in some cases, even whiten them. While mouthguards are available commercially, they are most effective when they’re custom-fit in our office by our staff. We offer two types to suit your goals and needs.

Night Guards

A night guard is beneficial for patients diagnosed with bruxism, a condition characterized by excessive teeth grinding or jaw clenching, most of which happens while you sleep. A night guard prevents your teeth from early wear and daytime headaches and pain. Night guards are custom fit for comfort and their thickness and construction are adjusted to fit your unique needs. Daytime guards are also available.

A night guard can protect your crowns, bridges, implants, or dentures and are highly recommended for patients with those restorations.

Mouth Guards

Mouth guards are most often used by athletes to protect against the trauma and intensity of contact sports. They can also help protect the soft tissues of your tongue, lips, and cheek lining, and they can keep braces from being damaged or from hurting the inside of your mouth. Mouth guards typically cover the upper teeth.
